Bomb Attack At Pakistan Railway Station Kills Five

Five people lost their lives and more than twenty suffered injuries when a remote controlled bomb went off at Sibi railway station in the restive southwestern Balochistan province of Pakistan.
The bomb exploded when people  were disembarking from just arrived Jaffar Express. People who sustained minor injuries were discharged after receiving initial treatment at local hospitals while, critically injured were shifted to hospitals in the nearby city of Quetta.
No group or organization has so far claimed responsibility for the bombing, but officials were quick to point fingers at separatists who have been waging a long battle with Government of Pakistan over host of issues ranging from human rights abuses, more autonomy to a larger share in the province vast natural resources.

John Barrowman And Shobna Gulati Win Rear of the Year Title

John Barrowman And  Shobna Gulati Win Rear of the Year Title
Well, we can say 'Bottoms-Up' to that. Scottish–American TV actor and musical star John Barrowman has won Rear of the Year title  in a public poll conducted by Wizard Jeans.

While Shobna Gulati, the British actress of Indian origin, best known for playing Sunita Alahan in the long-running soap opera Coronation Street, received the award in female category.

Barrowman, famous for his role as Captain Jack Harkness in 'Torchwood', and Gulati, also known for playing Anita in Victoria Wood's 'Dinnerladies', were deemed to have the best posterior in showbiz.

Both actors were thrilled to bits by the award and Gulati specially thanked her mother for her prized asset.

Rear of the Year is a light-hearted British award for celebrities who are considered to have a notable posterior. The 2011 event, sponsored by Wizard Jeans, was held on 8 June with winners Carol Vorderman and Anton du Beke receiving the honors for the best bottoms.

'The Avengers' Cross USD600 Million Mark In Domestic Collection
Walt Disney Pictures (NYSE: DIS) blockbuster superhero film, 'The Avengers', continues to topple box office records.

The movie based on the Marvel Comics superhero team of the same name has grossed over $600 million at the US box office, a feat achieved by only two movies so far in the history of the US cinema.

James Cameron magnum opus, 'Titanic' (1997), raked in a total of $600.8 million after its initial domestic run and pulled in over $57 million more in its 3-D re-release last spring, while his other flick  'Avatar' (2009), sits at the top with a record shattering $760.5 million in the US box office receipts.

'The Avengers' juggernaut is still causing a rumble at the box office. For the 22nd-24th June week-end, the movie occupied the eighth spot, gathering $7.2 million in ticket sales. The film, which holds the record for touching the $300, $400 and $500 million marks in quickest time is likely to add some more bucks to Disney's overflowing coffer in wake of the upcoming July 4 holiday.

Facebook (FB) Gets Its First Woman Director



Social networking giant Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) on Monday announced that its current chief operating officer (COO) Sheryl Sandberg has joined the company's all-male board of directors.
The move may  tone down some  criticism about Facebook, which has often found itself in line of fire for stifling diversity.

Sandberg joined Facebook in 2008 and has been one of its most powerful executives. Prior to Facebook, Sandberg was Vice President of Global Online Sales and Operations at Google (NASDAQ: GOOG). She also was involved in launching Google's philanthropic arm Google.org.

Prior to Google, Sandberg served as chief of staff for the United States Department of the Treasur. In 2012, she was named in Time 100, an annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world assembled by the magazine. She currently sits on the boards of The Walt Disney Company (NYSE :DIS ), Women for Women International and several other nonprofit organizations.
