MiX Telematics to showcase performance-driven fleet solutions at the IAA Commercial Vehicles Trade Fair in Hanover

Hanover ( Sharewellnewswire.com ) September 19, 2012  – For the third time running, MiX Telematics is participating in the renowned IAA Commercial Vehicles Trade Fair, being held in Hannover, Germany, from 20-27 September 2012. The global provider of driver safety, vehicle tracking and fleet management solutions will use the opportunity to launch new products and share key proven benefits of its solutions, along with the latest industry knowledge on the topic of fuel efficiency. MiX Telematics is exhibiting in hall 25, at stand 48.

“Our ultimate aim is to deliver solutions that help our customers drive their operation forward,” says Charles Tasker, Head of Fleet Telematics at MiX Telematics. “In addition to saving an average of 10% on fuel costs, our customers report significant improvements in driver safety, vehicle utilisation and customer service.”
A new product that will help fleet operators to run their fleets more efficiently is MiX Rovi. This intuitive, in-cab display is set to help operators optimise communication between drivers and the office. The seven-inch colour touch screen also serves to provide drivers with immediate feedback on their driving style, using real-time alerts to notify them when they over-rev, over-speed, idle excessively, or brake or accelerate harshly.

“Another key development for truck fleets is the imminent global availability of our new Trailer Tracking solution,” says Tasker, adding, “Fleet operators no longer need to rely on their truck tractors for information on their trailers – now they can manage and track their high-value or high-risk loads independently.”
Impressive results have also revealed MiX Telematics as a leading fleet management provider for the bus and coach industry in Europe. “To date, more than 10,000 buses in Spain, Germany, France, Belgium and Great Britain have been equipped with a MiX Telematics system,” says Tasker. Sylter Verkehrsgesellschaft (SVG) from Germany and Translink from Northern Ireland join a growing customer list that includes De Lijn, Vectalia-Subus and Go-Ahead London.

“A long-term trial with SVG revealed a net saving of 2,200 Euros per year per vehicle,” says Tasker, “while another customer of ours, RATP London United, achieved a 17% reduction in their accident rate, and a 10% improvement in fuel efficiency following the implementation of a customised risk reduction programme.”
MiX Telematics’ leading market position was recently confirmed by a new competitive assessment released by ABI Research: “In a market where surety of supply cannot always be guaranteed, it is good to know there’s at least one company that is financially strong. MiX Telematics stands out for its ability to provide solutions across multiple market segments including construction, public transport, emergency services and oil and gas. Furthermore, the company was one of the few assessed with a truly multinational reach, which is reflected by its presence in 112 countries across the globe,” says ABI Research.

Visit MiX Telematics in Hall 25, Stand E48, from 20-27 September 2012. In conjunction with launching new solutions, MiX Telematics will be sharing the latest industry knowledge on the topic of fuel efficiency. Presentations will take place on the hour between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. from 20-27 September (with exception of the weekend).
